PAIGNTON posted 153 for four in the Bob Parker Cup final, which proved too many for Torquay, who were well adrift on 129 for seven at the end and lost by 24 runs.
Alston Bobb batted through for an unbeaten 60, in which he hit six fours and a six, and skipper Neil Hancock made 49 off 37 balls with three sixes and six fours, as Paignton dominated most of the Torquay bowling.
James Hudson's one for 11 off four overs – one of them a rare maiden in Twenty20 cricket – was the meanest return from a Torquay bowler.
Mike Pugh made 37 and Hudson 44 in the Torquay reply, but keeping up with the asking rate was always a problem. Hancock (3-21) and Bobb (2-32) made sure of that.
Five overs out Torquay needed 70 to win and that was always going to be beyond them.
   Paignton 153-4 (A Bobb 60no, N Hancock 49; M Wilkinson 2-31), Torquay 129-7 (J Hudson 44, M Pugh 37; N Hancock 3-21, A Bobb 2-32). Paignton bt Torquay by 24 runs.
