SHALDON Optimists are through to the semi-finals of the Brockman Cup following their 33-run win in the derby clash with Stokeinteignhead.
The Optimists, buoyant after their first-round win over Torquay, made 133 for eight in their 20 overs.
Skipper James Fulner made a hard-hit 44 and Sam Mason cracked 22 as Shaldon got going, having been18 for two early on. Neil Johns made a quickfire 25 not out at the end.
Stoke had to attack from the off to have any chance of scoring at six and over to win.
Johns put Stoke on the back foot with three for 14 in his four overs and from then on Shaldon were favourites.
Peter Russell (41no) and Alan Baur (16) battled gamely to keep Stoke on the hunt, but they had too much to do.
Waiting for Shaldon in the last four are Paignton, who disposed of Abbotskerswell by three runs.
Babbacombe are through after they beat Stoke Gabriel by 11 runs. They will face Brixham, who were 16-run winners over Ipplepen.
