ON a damp and drizzly day at Shobrooke, the Devon Dumplings were 85-run losers to the touring Denstone Wanderers.
Batting first, the Wanderers made a creditable 210 for five in their allotted 35 overs.
The Dumplings were handicapped in the field by an extremely wet ball throughout most of the innings, an early tea being taken mid-innings when the rain intensified.
The Dumplings never got to grips with the target. Shobrooke's own Richard Pyle fell cheaply, and they faded to 125 all out.
Denstone Wanderers 210-5 (J Legget 48, A Little 43, M Brazier 33no; D May 2-43), Devon Dumplings 125 (P Seaman 27, J Sienisi 26, J Rendle 26). Denstone Wanderers bt Devon Dumplings by 85 runs.
