WEEK 11 of the North Devon Cricket League met the same watery grave as weeks five and seven with a complete washout across the six divisions.

With the season just past the halfway mark the matches postponed count is increasing to unprecedented proportions. In Division One, where the fixtures played count has now passed the half way mark, 37 games gone and 35 to play, 43% of the top tier Matches have simply failed to start.

Hardest hit to date in the top division are Beaford and Barnstaple & Pilton who have both seen five of their eight games wiped out by the rains, whilst Newton Tracey, North Molton, Sandford and Filleigh have all lost four games to the weather.

Further down the Leagues Division Four Shebbear reached the half way stage of their campaign with Sundays washout against Cheriton Fitzpaine and it means that of six games scheduled to date they have played just two. That statistic has implications on the end of season averages as the current rule stands that at least six innings must count for the respective awards and in Shebbear's case it has to be hoped that they do not lose any more games or their batsmen and bowlers will fail to reach the ‘matches to count'stage.
