DIVISION ONE
A Sunday that began with blazing sunshine ended in heavy downpours that washed away three more matches that took the cancellation count to 99 for the campaign
The highest profile game to be hit by the late afternoon rain was at Instow where North Devon, with a total of 199-9 on the board had visitors, reigning Champions North Molton well and truly on the rack at 83-8 when the heavens opened
Ross Burbidge (39), Richard Dart (29no), Dan Pickard (26) and Stuart Rhodes (26) steered the hosts to their 199-9, three wickets for Molton skipper Tom Wright who then top scored for his side with 32, but Matt Dart's fine nine over spell that yielded him 3-8 and a brace of wickets for Colin Payne had Wright's side in deep trouble
North Devon stay top but they are now joined by Newton Tracey who put Filleigh to the sword on their own patch dishing out a 133 run hiding
Simon Gear top scored with 56 as Newton Tracey were bowled out one run shy of 200, Jamie Palmer picked up a four wicket haul for Filleigh who were then bundled out for just 66 with Josh Singh top scoring with 16, Phil Steward picked up 5-19
Sandford comfortably got their game at bottom of the table Ilfracombe before any threat of rain
The home side were blown away for just 50, Jamie Sutton managed 16, Asa Wright picked up 3-12 and Charlie Hancock took 2-1 for Sandford who didn't lose a wicket in reply
Pete Whitby (23no) and Richard Tucker (26no) leading the Creedy Park men to their win
The second of the top flight games to be washed away was at Beaford where visiting Bideford were 109-2 well on the way to chasing down 155-7
Geoff Lake with 47 and Mark Lake with 28 were the principle run getters for the hosts, Alec Hodges bagged a brace and Chris Luxton picked up three wickets for Bideford for whom Jack Hockin was unbeaten on 46 when he made the dash back to the dry pavilion
Dan Bowser had earlier hit 44 for Bideford who remain very much part of what now seems to be a three team title tussle
DIVISION TWO
THERE was a big shock at Bratton Fleming where Victoria Park had their 100% record ended
The visitors were shot out for ‘Nelson', and that 111 was not enough to deny Bratton who got home losing just four wickets
The inform Ted Cumming hit an unbeaten half century, earlier both Stevie Kingdon and Nick Dartnoll had bagged braces of wickets
Victoria Parks surprise defeat leaves Bradninch as the sections only 100% team now and it also leaves the door open again for Lynton & Lynmouth (2 defeats) to jump back into the promotion reckoning
Westleigh's game at Barnstaple & Pilton II was hit by the rain but not before James Ford had top scored with 45, Hector Christie hit 39 and Westleigh closed on 200-8, four wickets for Tom Popham for Barum who were well placed and fancying a chance to get off bottom spot at 111-4 when the rains arrived
Brady Saunders hit an unbeaten 25, George McEndoo was the highest score in the pavilion with 38
Heathcoat picked up only a second win of the season with a comprehensive hiding of ten man Braunton at Knightshayes
South African Sean Dick blasted 155 and such was his dominance of the innings that the next best was Pete Guest's 25 as the home side closed on 248-9, the visitors could only muster 82 in reply, Mark Johnson hitting 40, Matt Hague claimed 4-17 and Sam Smith bagged a brace
DIVISION THREE
FILLEIGH II are back on top of the table after they won at Morebath by 45 runs
Mark Williamson and Ross Denning both had knocks of 58 and Tom Marsh hit 46 in a total of 253-6, Dan Marks claiming 3-54 and then the same player top scored with 69 but his side were eventually out for 208
Hatherleigh are into second spot after they had a comprehensive home win over Tiverton & Bickleigh
Gareth Tidball (60) and Rob Fishleigh (61) both made healthy contributions to the cause but a third half centurion made all the headlines as it was a maiden fifty for lady cricketer Daisy Barnes with a knock of 56
Tidball then bagged two wickets as did Ms Barnes to end a very successful day for her and her team as Tiverton & Bickleigh were bowled out for 144, Richard Watson hitting 40 and Nick Roud an unbeaten 33 to go with his earlier haul of 4-40
North Devon II were victorious at Sandford II, winning by 70 runs
Tom Stanton (65) and James Wittram (33) helped guide their side to 198, four wickets for Pete Glass who then top scored with 30 but young John Wainwright took the bowling honors with 5-10
DIVISION FIVE
NEWTON Tracey won the Saturday game played in this section. Their 306-3 in which Nick Parkin hit a splendid 108 and Bill Sobey struck an unbeaten 83 led their side to a total that was far too many for Barnstaple & Pilton III who were bowled out for 161, three wickets for Sobey
The much-anticipated meeting between the sections top two at Bideford was washed out
The home side had been bowled out for 170
Sam Allin opened the innings and hit a decent 25 whilst further contributions came from Will Barrett (34), Kevin Fishleigh (28), Dave Hart (26) and John Weeks (22), five wickets for Brian Border and four for Toby Lockhead and Bishops Nympton's reply was in a spot of bother at 89-5 when the heavens opened
The battle of the bottom two went the way of second bottom Kelseymen who won a low scoring encounter with visiting Westleigh II
The home side labored their way to 100 with Martin Lewis's 33 the top individual offering, Westleigh were then bowled out for 84, Cann hitting 40 but that man Lewis completed a fine afternoons work with 3-10 and Robbie Elliott also picked up three wickets
DIVISION SIX
THE Saturday game scheduled for Witheridge was canceled after Nomansland's visitors Ilfracombe II cried off but there was play at Bradninch II on Sunday where a strong home side put Nomansland to the sword
Zimbabwean Ryan Butterworth hit a 45-ball 66, his innings including four 6's and seven 4's, whilst teenager Billy Wakeley hit an unbeaten 60 – this in 49 balls and Matt Jarrett hit 48
Nomansland replied with 185, 55 of which were extra's, John Gibson provided the top score with the bat with 33
