Over-50s plump for Graham Munday as new captain

DEVON Over-50s will have a new captain next season following the resignation of Roger Wensley.

Wensley’s successor will be Sidmouth’s Graham Munday, who got the nod ahead of Dave Tall when members of Devon Seniors voted at the club’s annual meeting.

The team plays in the ECB national championship.

Phil Bees, formerly with Cornwood, is taking over the reins of the 2nd XI following the resignation of Fran Pyle.

Chris Theedom of Sandford CC remains captain of the Over-60s’ 1st XI.

Peter Shephard (South Devon) takes over the captaincy of the 2nd XI from Stuart Munday, who called it a day last summer after reaching his 70th birthday.

Andy Gibson (Sandford) remains captain of the friendly XI.

The meeting was followed by dinner for more than 70 people.

David Gambie, the club president, wished the new captains and their teams all the best for the 2015 season.
