Played on a chilly,blustery day but on an excellent pitch at Instow.

Gwent won the toss and batted but failed to capitalise on a good start and eventually totalled 199 for 7, a moderate score on this surface. Half the overs were bowled by spinners and the wickets were shared.The performance in the field lacked the intensity of previous games but on this occassion was to prove adequate.

In reply Devon were never in trouble reaching their target with 9 overs to spare, all the batters made significant contributions.

A good opening partnership between Josh Bess and Mickey Wilkinson was followed by an unbroken stand by Ian Gray and Dan Bowser.
