Knight century
lays foundation for win |
A superb 116 from Heather Knight laid the foundation for a comfortable win for the Devon girls down at Grampound Road. In a match reduced to 40 overs she shared in an opening stand of 118 with Celia Hayes (25). Thereafter it was all Heather as she dominated the Cornwall attack until she fell 1 ball from the end. Rebecca Donohue kept up her impressive early season form as she removed both openers in one over. A brief partnership of 36 for the 3rd wicket held things up for a while before Claire Thomas and Rebecca Piddock both claimed three wickets as the Cornwall innings tamely fell away to leave Devon comfortable victors by 129 runs. |
