Rain at tea brought play to an early conclusion to the South /East game at the pretty Harberton ground that was later bathed in sunshine. C.Tollins was the only home batter to reach double figures as Boddington (5-1-10-3) and Dominick Bess (5-1-9-4) took out the Souths leading batsmen with extras contributing a very useful 22. A superb tea was enjoyed by one and all.

In the game between the West and the North the home sides Matthew Skeemer, had an excellent all round match, he scored 66, being was well supported by Todd Rossouw (13) and Charlie Barriball (17), sharing a 50 partnership with both.  The key performance for the North was Isaac Hydleman with great figures of 5 for15.  In reply North fell 15 runs short, J. Barnes (28) top scored.  Tight bowling from Skeemer 5 for 13 and Mulberry 3 for 26 ensured that West secured the victory.

In hot sunny conditions on a hard dry wicket, West made an early breakthrough when D Mulberry bowled J Maunder with the score on 16. A fine partnership then developed between D Powell and M Hoddinott (capt) taking the score to 117. The partnership was finally broken in the 26th over when Hoddinott (36) was bowled by C Barriball. H Gater joined Powell and accelerated the run rate with some lusty blows. With the score on 148, the prize wicket of Powell (52) finally fell to a catch by Borbon off the bowling of Barriball - a well constructed earnings with a mixture of sharp running and boundary 4s. Gater was joined by D Bess who continued the momentum until Gater, trying to hit over the top, was caught by Richardson off the bowling of Mulberry for a very useful 24. The score was now 181 in the 36th over.  Bess was joined by B Reed who made his intentions clear hitting his first delivery for 4. Bess (40) was run out in the last over and East finished on 226 for 5 off 40 overs - Reed (14 not out).  Pick of the bowling: D Mulberry 7 Overs – 0 Maidens – 38 runs – 2 wickets C Barriball 4 – 0 – 21 – 2

As soon as the match re-started, a sharp shower made conditions rather greasy and the crowd a little anxious – could the weather intervene yet again? West lost 3 early wickets thanks to a sharp Run Out and a fine opening spell by J Vanstone. West were 17 for 3 after 4 overs Thankfully the shower stopped and the batsmen started to dig in. Skeemer and Colmer started to get the scoreboard ticking over for West. L Cummins came to the crease to join Skeemer, when Colmer was bowled by Bess. Skeemer and Cummins took the score to 74 in the 17th over when Hoddinott took a very good catch to dismiss Skeemer (25). From then on wickets started to fall at regular intervals, including a swift stumping by Powell. West innings finished when Cummins (18) was bowled by H Cullinng. West 106 all out off 26.4 overs.   Pick of the bowling: J Vanstone  4 – 0 – 18 – 2

D Bess   8 – 0 – 28 – 3 H Gater   3 – 0 – 15 – 1 H Culling 2.4 – 0 – 9 - 2
