Another Sunday and another washout. The game against Oxfordshire at the weekend was the fourth in a row to be lost due to the weather. I appreciate these are frustrating times for you but even more so for the manager and coaches.

Youth cricket in general has taken a battering. In the South Devon Youth League my club has 13 games to rearrange. I note that some cricket is being played and I am pleased to see members of the squad doing well with bat and ball for their clubs.

The squad is the same for Thursday’s game with Gwent at Plympton CC. Ollie Hensberg, who has remained 14th man for the past four games due to the weather, was due for a start – but he is away on a school trip!

The game with Berkshire on Thursday July 26 will be at the Oratory School in Reading…..weather permitting.
