An enthralling encounter took place between Mount Wise and Plymstock at the Devonport ground. Mount Wise batted first and a steady start saw them at 222 from the first pair. The next two pairs then lost 8 wickets, M Thomas taking a hat trick. The final pairing of Chris Sanders and Amara Carr had to go and repair the damage which they did to good effect adding 36 for the final pairing as Mount Wise posted 226. Three early wickets set Plymstock back on their heels. The middle pairings settled things down but a direct hit from Dan Sanders gave Mount Wise a much needed run out. With one ball remaining 2 runs were required for victory. What should have been a comfortable single turned into a mix up as another run out was claimed to leave Mount Wise victors by 9 runs. A really enjoyable game of cricket played between two very sporting sides.

Tavistock overcame Ivybridge to remain neck and neck with Mount Wise at the top of the table. T Pope top scored with 21 and with the help of 37 extras they totalled 257. The loss of six wickets early in the piece didn't help Ivybridge and despite some positive contributions they were always below the rate and finished 40 runs short of victory.

The lesser used bowlers did very well for Plympton, once again Rebecca Donohue was the pick of the bowlers. Whitchurch batsman were probably not quite so accustomed to playing the quicker bowling. Tom Worth 33 and Ryan Skinner were the pick of the batting for Plympton. The younger Plympton players are now getting more used to the game which bodes well for next season.
