Plymouth 68-2 (J Nicholls 23 no) beat Cornwood 67-9 (J Caley 3-8) by 8 wickets Plymstock 81-3 (J Nash 21 no) beat Mount Wise 80-5 (J Fletcher 36 no) by 7 wickets Plyrmouth 117-8 (C Lock 52, J Smith 3-15) beat Kingsbridge 78-7 (K Burne 49 no) by 39 runs Whitchurch 84-8 (Extras 41, L Clement 2-4) beat Yelverton 53-9 (T Scott 3-10) by 31 runs.
Under 15 Match Reports
Tight bowling from Plymouth restricted Cornwood to 67-8 from 20 overs. J Caley was the pick of the bowling taking 3-8 to restrict the middle order. James Nicholls 23 no eased Plymouth home with more than 7 overs to spare. Leon Woodman did his best to halt the flow taking 2-9 from his allotted four overs. Peter Deal and D Dollery were the two nominated fielders of the match.
For the second week in succession Mount Wise were unable to field a full strength Under 15 side, their four County Under 15 players being unavailable through school commitments. They did welcome Devon batsman James Fletcher to the side joining from Kingsbridge. He had a good debut making an unbeaten 36 in the visitors 80-5. A young bowling side did their best to restrict the home side but a patient 21 no from opener J Nash saw Plymstock home in the 18 th over. Rob Bennett and D Pimm picked up the fielding nominations.
Whitchurch posted a total of 84 thanks to a contribution of 41 from extras, indeed opener J Newton was the only player to make double figures. R West and L Clement picked up two wickets apiece. N Murray and R Goldsby-West shared a the only partnership of note, 23 for the third wicket in Yelverton's reply and the chase ran out of steam as they were bowled out in the 16 th over. T Scott picked up 3-10 and was the nominated the fielder of the match. C Mulholland picked up the nomination for Yelverton. Plymouth posted 117-8 thanks to a half century from Chris Lock. Joe Smith was the pick of the bowling for Kingsbridge with 3-15. K Burne made a spirited effort to Kingsbridge to the required total but he had no support and was left undefeated on 49 as they fell 39 runs short. James Nicholls and Joe Smith were the nominated fielders.
