Under 11 Round Up
The league title now seems to be destined for either Plymouth, Tavistock or PCSMW. All three are now level on points but significantly neither Tavistock nor Plymouth have yet to lose. Ivybridge would appear to be now out of the running with two defeats this week. PCSMW eased to a comfortable victory over Whitchurch. The key was taking 17 wickets, Phil Willis picking up four and Rhys Yates three. A near perfect batting performance with the loss of only wicket was led by Osama Alam with a blistering 39 and a composed 25 from Jack Widnell. Plymouth also beat Whitchurch by over a hundred runs, again the key was good bowling with W Hancock taking eight wickets. Ivybridge batted well against Plympton recovering from the loss of 9 wickets with the last two pairs of batsmen scoring well without loss. Plympton's bowlers faired well with the pick being T Worth 3-7 and J Howourth 3-15. In a tense affair at Tavistock the hosts just managed to hold on by 7 runs. Michael Cousens (15) batted out the last few balls from Plympton's Callum Watkins to ensure victory. Adam Stevenson continued in fine form as he hit 40 in his sides 35 run victory over Cornwood. R Colton picked up 3-23 for Plymstock with E Statton weighing in with 3-44 for Cornwood. Plymouth came through a tough match against Ivybridge. Batting first they posted 248 which included 38 extras. Ivybridge batted strongly with A Beaumont top scoring with 20. Plymouth's opening pair of J Hancock (3-9) and W Matthews (4-14) did their job though as Ivybridge finished on 217. Plymouth remain unbeaten and the a title decider with Tavistock looms although PCSMW may have something to say about that if they overcome Tavistock this week. more
