DEVON Dumplings slumped to a disappointing 125-run defeat when they met a strong Glamorgan Nomads team at the County Ground.

Batting first in a 46-overs-a-side game, the Nomads reached 100 for three in the 25th.

The middle order then pushed the scoring along rapidly with Wales and Glamorgn 2nd XI batsman Gareth Slade making 72 not out off 80 balls and Dale Cooper 54 off just 39 in a healthy 258 for seven.

Most of the Dumplings bowlers suffered, except for Exeter's Karl Noll with two for 28 in 10 overs.

The Nomads total was far too many for the Dumplings, the   innings faltering from the start with the loss of three wickets for 33.

Plymouth's David Burke provided some stability at number four with a brave 52 but only Clyst St George's Graham White with 24 gave support. The Dumplings capitulated for just 133 and lost by 125 runs. Gareth Hopkins, another Wales and Glamorgan 2nd XI player, spun through the side to take five for 20.
