Plympton won the toss & got off to a slow start. Openers Matt Kidd & Joshua Outtram fording it hard to get the ball away with Cornwood's tight bowling. A steady innings by Patrick Fulton (36 not out) helped Plympton reach 105 with Cornwood keeping the runs down even though sloppy fielding & several missed catches may have made a different story. A wayward opening attack by Plympton enabled Cornwood's reply to get off to a rapid start with far too many wides helping the scoreboard tick along. Cornwood openers Robin Dart (35 not out) and Ryan Rickard (15) patiently weathered the storm & were never under any sustained pressure until Rebecca Donohue and Joshua Outtram tied things down. However the Plympton score was never enough & Cornwood eased home with 5 overs to spare. A strange match with Mr. Extras doing very well for both sides.

Ford Park elected to bat after winning the toss. They never seemed comfortable with the Cornwood opening bowling pair of Yarnold & Howe who kept the run rate down. Goodliffe & Grewal ripped through the middle order, taking 3 wickets each. Ford Park just survived the 20 overs with Orme-Williams top scoring on 19. In reply, Cornwood reached the target with 8 overs to spare. Only Johnson (2-0-15-2) provided any resistance as Dart (32) and Tall (23*) shared a 59 partnership in 6 overs and guided Cornwood to an easy victory. |

Another exciting match between Ivybridge & Plymstock which resulted in Plymstock winning as close as you can get. Bradley of Ivybridge made a quick-fire 41 with contributions from several other batters. Plymstock bowled well with Savage (4-0-18-2) leading the rest. In reply Plymstock got off to a slower start & Mulberry was dropped early on before falling for 34. Smith & O’Hara batted well with excellent running between the wickets to bring the Ivybridge total ever closer. Plymstock managed to get the 9 runs from the last over with one ball to spare. |

24/05/07 Yelverton 143-6 (T. Price 28, R. Bennett 17, S. Tall 1-22) Cornwood 105 all out (R. Rickard 27, E. Grewal 19, J. Lenden 4-8, R. Bennett 2-25) Yelverton beat Cornwood by 38 runs |
Cornwood’s winning season met an abrupt end at Yelverton with a dismal performance in the field. Yelverton, always looking strong in the top batting order, were allowed to race away as inaccurate bowling, dropped catches and fumbling returns saw a total build to one that Cornwood would struggle to overcome. Price (28), Watkins (18) and Bennett (17) batted well with Tall (4-0-14-3) the only bowler unaffected by the extras epidemic. Cornwood valiantly tried to put a total together with a young Rickard (27) staying in and being supported by Grewal (19) and Goodliffe (17). Because of the number extras incurred, the gloom gradually descended and the struggle eventually ended with Lenden (4-0-8-4) & Bennett (4-0-25-2) picking off the Cornwood team in the dark. |

04/06/07 Plympton 71-9 ( P. Fulton 14, J. Stephens 2-11, B. Pridham 2-11, M. Boon 2-15) Tavistock 72-1 (J. McGahey 38*, J. Stephens 24*, M. Kidd 1-20) Tavistock beat Plympton by 9 wkts |

05/06/07 Plymstock 86 a. o. (A. Stevenson 29, C. Worden 2-8, N. Lister 2-14, T. Williams 2-20) Tideford 87-9 (L. Marsh 12, R. Coltham 3-10, L. Savage 3-18) Tideford beat Plymstock by 1 wkt. |
Plymstock won the toss & decided to bat, their innings centring on an excellent 29 from Stevenson. Tideford used 7 bowlers & whilsyt they used the conditions sensibly at the same time gave away far too many extras. Plymstock were bowled out for 86 runs with 11 balls left of their 20 overs. C. Worden (3-0-8-2) and Shapland (3-1-3-1) were the pick of Tideford’s bowlers. The Tideford reply stuttered without any baytsmen becoming established. Plymstock bowled tightly and both Savage (4-0-18-3) & Coltham (4-1-10-3) dominated with 3 wickets each. The climax to the match was a fitting tribute to both sides. With only 2 balls left and 3 runs required for victory young Matt Worden hit a superb cover drive to win the match for Tideford. The pick of the Tideford batsmen were Marsh (12), Shapland (10), Lister (11) and Matt Worden (11*) batted superbly at the end of the innings in very difficult circumstances. A great game played in an excellent spirit by both sets of players. |

07/06/07 Cornwood 103-8 (R. Dart 25, E. Grewal 24, J. Libby 2-10, W. Dickinson 2-16) Plymouth 96-5 (J. Libby 42*, F. DeMendonca 2-22, R. Dart 1-11) Cornwood beat Plymouth by 7 runs |
In a surprisingly low-scoring match Cornwood edged out Plymouth in another tight game at Delamore Park. Cornwood elected to bat first with Dart (25) and Grewal (24) putting a steady start together but unable to force Plymouth onto the back foot. Libby (4-2-10-2), Dickinson (4-0-16-2) and Passmore (2-0-2-2) all bowled extremely well and only a late wag of the Cornwood tail helped them reach 103 in their 20 overs. Corns openers Yarnold (4-0-5-0) and Howe (4-0-15-0) again showed how to tie down the opening batsmen backed by superb fielding from Grewal’s two run-outs. Libby (42*) and Jackson (31) scored well yet were always struggling to overtake the run rate required. Late wickets by De-Mendonca (4-0-22-2) and Dart (2-0-11-1) ended the Plymouth charge leaving them 7 runs short in a nerve-jangling finish. |

07/06/07 Yelverton 121-6 (R. Bennett 56, W. Chapman 26, D. Rushdon 4-11, T. Sherrell 2-18) Whitchurch 125-1 (T. Sherrell 60*, J. Meadows 32, R. Bennett 1-20) Whitchurch beat Yelverton by 9 wkts |
Yelverton had a very slow start with the opening Whitchurch bowlers Elliott (3-1-4-0) & Macrae (3-0-15-0) keeping it hard to score off the pitch. Rushdon (3-0-11-4) bowled very well for Whitchurch. Bennett (56) took over 50 minutes to score & Chapman (26) an hour. Yelverton’s opening bowlers kept Whitchurch down to 33 off 8 overs & then it went downhill. 28 extras off 14 overs didn’t help Yelverton’s cause. Excellent batting from Meadows (32*) and Sherrell (60*)sealed Yelverton’s fate with Whitchurch getting the win with 6 overs to spare. Bennett (4-0-20-1) was the pick of the Yelverton bowlers. |
