The big question this week lies with Plympton have they found the new Shane Warne in their Under 9 ranks? Joshua Smith who only turned 9 years old this month, stepped up two years above his age to play for Plympton Under 11 team, after learning the true art of Leg Spin at such a young age. Josh in his debut game of Cricket spun his way to figures of 3 overs 10 runs 5 wkts figures that must cricketers would be proud of after their 500th game let alone their first ever game.Fellow bowler J.Mullin who bowled figures of 4 overs 2 maidens 8 runs 5 wkts, reduced Plymouth U10’s to 146 after their 20 overs had been bowled.  Plympton who had batted first posted a large team score of 286 with J.Mullin scoring 20 showed he could have a bright future with both bat and ball.  With good batting and bowling by the young Plympton team this led to a 140 run win for Plympton.

Ivybridge in return took the game to Plymstock and again was helped by 23 extras being bowled by the Plymstock bowlers.  A good knock D.Wilmott 12 helped this game to be in the balance until the last ball of the Ivybridge innings. Ivybridge failed to get the runs they required, leaving Plymstock to take the 2 points by a 3 run margin.Plymstock now lead the U11 league with 3 wins to take their tally to 6 points.
