Plymstock 140 for 3 (A. Stevenson 69, J. Bailey 24*, K. Bryan 2-37)

Plymouth Mount Wise 83 for 4 (J. Hancock 28*, A. Stevenson 2-15, M. Smith 2-7)

Plymstock beat Plymouth Mount Wise by 57 runs

(Match used as U15 Cup quarter-final playoff – agreed by both clubs).

On a sunny Sunday morning Plymstock batted first and with some powerful batting from Adam Stevenson (69), James Bailey (24 not out) and Mark Smith (21) posted a total of 140. The best bowling was from K. Bryan (2-37), G. Southcott (1-30) and G. Caudwell (0-6).

Some good bowling by Plymstock soon reduced Mount Wise to 17 for 4, a position from which they never recovered.  Despite a rearguard action from J. Hancock (28 not out) and J. Varcoe (21 not out) they were unable to threaten the Plymstock score. Mark Smith (2-7) and Adam Stevenson (2-15) being the pick of the Plymstock bowling.

Cornwood 164 for 4 (E. Staddon 59*, R. Dart 48, B. Williams 2-11, J. Hatton 1-15)

Lewdown 142 for 6 (A. Voltz 52, B. Williams 20, R. Howe 1-17, A. Goodliffe 1-3)

Cornwood beat Lewdown by 22 runs

On an evening when thunderstorms were forecast abd both sides were without key players, the easy option would have been to cancel. However, Lewdown made the long journey across Dartmoor to play an exciting game at Cornwood.

The toss was won by the away side and they elected to put Cornwood into bat on a damp pitch, rain already having claimed other matches in the area. Alex Beaumont (17) and Elliott Staddon (59) played sensibly, putting on 53 for the first wicket. Ben Williams (2-11) claimed two quick wickets, which brought Robin Dart (48) to partner Staddon and their 100 partnership helped the Corns to a total of 164.

Lewdown replied strongly with Sam Ewen (15), Ashley Voltz (52) and Ben Williams (20) keeping up the required strike rate for the first 10 overs. Unfortunately, once the top order batsmen were out, the rate became increasingly out of reach. Cornwood used nine bowlers who all played their part in keeping Lewdown within 22 runs of their target, and the predicted heavy rain never showed up.

Plymstock 122 for 8 (J. Batten 22, R. Coltham 20*, N. Lancaster 2-17, H. Solomon 2-21)

Ivybridge 82 all out (H. Solomon 36, R. Coltham 3-9, A. Stevenson 2-9)

Plymstock beat Ivybridge by 40 runs

Plymstock batted first and totalled 122 for 8. Main contributions came from Joe Batten (22) and Rory Coltham (20 not out). Extras were top score with 30. Pick of the Ivybridge bowlers were Neil Lancaster (2-17) and Harry Solomon (2-21).

Some very economical bowling from Mark Smith (0-13) and Adam Stevenson (2-9) meant that Ivybridge could never get up with the required run-rate in the first eight overs. Coltham continued this economy conceding only nine runs for three wickets in his four overs. Despite some late hitting from Tom Bennett (12) and Harry Solomon (36 not out) Ivybridge were all out for 82.
