Plymouth Mount Wise played Tideford in a re-arranged fixture at Mount Wise. The pitch was very damp and made batting very difficult. The young Tideford side batted first and found it hard to reach their total of 43 all out in 17.5 overs. D. Snowdon (18) and R Cruickshank (13) put in good performances against a tight bowling attack.  All of the Plymouth bowlers finished with tidy figures, pick of them was Jordan Hancock 4-4-0-1, Gus Caudwell 4-1-14-4 and Ben Stein 1.5-0-3-4. In reply Plymouth reached the required total of 45 with the loss of 3 wickets in 7.5 overs with Ben Stein (13) and Charles Attis (14 not out) getting the bulk of the runs & R. Court and T. Carter a wicket each.

Plymouth Civil Service beat Plymstock by 16 runs

On a perfect Sunday morning in bright sunshine Whitchurch put together a total of 113 with A. Sivyer carrying his bat for 68. All Cornwood’s players (apart from the keeper) were given a chance to bowl with Matt Walke taking 3 wickets.After loosing both openers for a few, Cornwood reached the total with 3 overs to spare with Elliott Staddon (71*) and Robin Dart (23*) being inseparable. That man Sivyer was the pick of the Whitchurch bowlers with 1 for 9 in his 4 overs.

Plympton won the toss and decided to bat. Plympton got off to a great start with 18 off the first 2 overs. Captain Ryan Skinner was first out, caught at mid on for 9. Josh Outtram came in at 3 but found it hard to get going and was bowled by R. Morris for 7. Matt Outtram and Amara Carr came and went both run out. When Carr was run out the score had moved onto 68. Blaise Sturley was out first ball, which then moved the score to 68 for 5. Adam Lock joined surviving opener Becky Piddock. Piddock was next out for a good knock of 39. Lock was next out when the score was 96 for 7. Plympton ended their innings on 101 for 7. Plymstock started slower then they hoped but the runs started to come, before both openers A Stevenson and R Coultham went the score was on 38. Plympton kept picking up wickets but with S. Farmer still at the crease the game was still in the balance. With 3 overs to go Plymstock were 83 for 5. Piddock went for 8 in the next over put also bowled Morris. Now Plymstock were 91 for 6 with 2 overs to go, and Farmer was still there. Matt Outtram was bowling this over, he usually keeps wicket so big pressure. This over only went for 3, so now it was 8 off the last over. With 2 balls to go Plympton ran J. Bailey out as he went for the second. New batsmen, T. Taper, had to face the last ball needing 3 to win. Ball bowled hit to wide mid on and a mis-field but recovered, and Plymstock could only get 2 runs. Game tied. Great game. Farmer ended up 28no

Plymouth Civil Service batted first and looked to be heading for a big score against Ivybridge as Chris Sanders (52*) and Dan Winsor (25) put on 64 in the first 10 overs. Harry Solomon then took 3 wickets in 4 balls to make the score 64 for 3. Tight bowling from Adam Huxtable (3-13) and Neil Lancaster (2-14) recricted Civil to 97 for 8 in their 20 overs. 2 wickets in his opening spell from Osama Alam (2-8) had Ivybridge in trouble at 4 for 2 from which they never recovered and were eventually all out for 38. B. Waghorne (2-10) and J. Widnell (2-1) were the pick of the other bowlers.

Plympton beat Yelverton by 9 wkts

Yelverton got off to a great start with virtually all of their top order contributing with scores pick of these was Harry Nixon (31) and Tom Turner (19). Then Plymouth found it hard going but Harry Barnes 4-0-16-2 and Jordan Hancock 4-1-18-1 pegged them back with crucial wickets. Yelverton’s young players struggled towards the end of the innings against tight bowling from Ben Stein 3-0-5-2, but reached a reasonable total of 101. Plymouth Mount Wise started quickly and both openers contributed Ben Stein (14) and Jon Varcoe (27). The Yelverton bowlers brought them back into the match pick of them was D. Ackford 4-1-5-3 and Harry Nixon 4-0-19-2. It led to a frantic finish with Plymouth requiring 15 from the last two overs and Jordan Hancock (7 not out) and Gus Caudwell (5 not out) finally saw the match out with one ball to spare
