Plymstock 143 for 0 (M. Blackmore 99*, D. Mulberry 28*, S. Waddington 0-20)

Tavistock 37 for 6 (P. Jarman 13*, C. O’Higgins 3-6, T. Waller 1-4)

Plymstock beat Tavistock by 106 runs

Plymstock lost the toss and batted first on a blustery and showery evening but there was no gloom in the home side’s batting as D. Mulberry (28) supported M. Blackmore in an unbroken opening stand of 143. Blackmore compiled runs throughout his innings with drives and pulls and accelerated in the last couple of overs to finish on 99 not out. In reply Tavistock were in trouble right from the start when P. Steward’s direct throw ran out R. Bone and C. O’Higgins took three wickets in two overs to end up with 3 for 6 from 4 overs. T Waller took the other wicket together with another run out. Only P Jarman reached double figures (13 not out) as the visitors finished on 37 for 6.

Yelverton Typhoons 120 for 4 (D. Ackford 65*, D. Cooper 14, R. Boase 1-18)

Cornwood Dels 22 all out (J. Whitfield 5, D. Ackford 4-4, J. Dent 2-11, W. Johnson 2-2)

Yelverton Typhoons beat Cornwood Dels by 98 runs

Cornwood Dels won the toss in familiar overcast skies at Yelverton and asked Yelverton to bat first.  Yelverton lost opener M. Adams early on, but the 2nd wicket pair of D. Ackford & J. Douie took the score along to 26, before some poor running between the wickets saw Douie run out for 9.  New batsman W. Johnson, was bowled for 1 with the score on 36 for 3 and was replaced at the wicket by D. Cooper.  Cooper & Ackford took the score to 56 with Cooper striking 3 boundaries before he chipped a catch to point for 14.  Ackford was joined at the wicket by J. Warner and the pair put together an unbeaten 5th wicket partnership of 64, with Ackford ending up 65 not out & Warner 5 not out in Yelverton’s score of 120 for 4 off their 20 overs.  Although Ackford had contributed the majority of the runs, it showed the value of building partnerships through the innings.  The pick of the Cornwood bowlers was Reece Boase with 1-18 off his 4 overs.

Ackford and J Dent opened the bowling for Yelverton, and Ackford struck twice in his opening over with 2 wickets in 2 balls, both bowled.  Not wanting to be out-done, Dent also struck in his opening over holding onto a return catch from Boase.  Some fine bowling in the seamer-friendly conditions continued with Ackford picking up a further 2 wickets (again in 2 balls) to end up with the enviable figures of 4-3-4-4.  Dent chipped in with another caught & bowled – this time with an even better catch for figures of 4-0-11-2, and W. Johnson picked up 2 wickets for 1 run off the 7 balls he bowled.  Some smart fielding contributed towards 2 run-outs and Johnson’s 2nd wicket came courtesy of a brilliant diving catch by D. Cooper at backward point to win the match.

Cornwood’s final total was 22 a/o leaving Yelverton winners by 98 runs.

Tideford 82 all out (O. Demaine 12, J. Reid 4-9, W. Sargent 2-4)

Cornwood Oaks 83 for 3 (W. Sargent 22, M. Maller 18, T. Martin 3-10)

Cornwood Oaks beat Tideford by 7 wkts.

Tideford won the toss and choose to bat under leaden skies at Cornwood. They made a steady start but with wickets falling at regular intervals the innings never gained momentum, except from a powerful cameo from O. Demaine who top scored with 12. The innings was polished off in some style by James Reid who bagged a hatrick on his way to recording figures of 3.3-0-9-3. The Cornwood reply was helped by an excellent opening stand between Matt Maller (18) and Will Sargent (22), until Tideford's T. Martin showed his class and removed them both. Cornwood stuck to the task in hand and their talisman skipper Josh O’Hare hit the final runs to bring the game to an end with the Oaks winning by 7 wickets.

Lewdown 43 all out (A. Craddock 6, J. Dodge 3-6, D. Street 3-8)

Plymouth Mount Wise 45 for 3 (S. Colmer 11*, H. Williams 2-17, A. Craddock 1-10)

Plymouth Mount Wise beat Lewdown by 7 wkts.

Lewdown chose to bat on a cold night with rain threatening. Mount Wise bowled very well and soon had Lewdown on 20 for 7. However with some helpful no-balls and 15 wides Lewdown made 43 (Extras top scoring with 22). Jack Dodge with 3 for 6 and Dominic Street with 3 for 8 were the best of the Mount Wise bowlers, but were backed-up by some excellent fielding with 5 catches offered and all taken.Mount Wise lost 3 wickets when Lewdown took the field and made the necessaru runs in 11 overs. Steve Colmer (11 not out) and Nick Ferrell (10 not out) were the pick of the Mount Wise batting with H. Williams (2 for 17) and A. Craddock (1 for 10) the best Lewdown bowlers.

Plymouth Peverell 64 all out (W. Caufield 25, D. Northey 3-5, B. Megicks 2-15)

Whitchurch 65 for 3 (L. Cummins 31*, M. Martin 1-8, W. Caufield 1-11)

Whitchurch beat Plymouth Peverell by 7 wkts

Plymouth Peverell won the toss and decided to bat, but were soon in trouble from in-form bowler Dom Monger who bowled M. Sewell with a perfect yorker. Josh Towl joined the dots to take a wicket with the help of a Christian Hodges catch. Soon after there was a mix-up resulting in a simple run-out. At 25 for 3 vice captain Luke Cummins bowled a wicket maiden and Hodges bowled M. Martin. Peverell opener W. Caufield was feeling the pressure and after a patient 25 holed-out to Monger off the bowling of David Northey. Barney Megicks then pollished-off the tail with Northey (2-0-5-3). Peverell finished 64 all out in 16 of their 20 overs.Whitchurch sustained an early injury to opener Ben Hodge, a full toss onto his ankle. His retirement brought in Cummins to join Monger who was in a hurry only to be caught and bowled by Farrow for 9. Josh Towl joined Cummins to take the total past 40 until Towl was caught by Eatwell off the bowling of M. Martin. Ben Hodge re-joined the fray and, with Cummins now going well, got within 15 of victory until bowled by Caufield. Hodges and Cummins (31 not out) produced the best batting, calling & communicating of the whole game to secure a most deserving victory by 7 wickets for Whitchurch.

Ivybridge 52 for 7 (G. Berry 16*, D. Dawe 12, J. Lee 2-5, C. O’Keefe 2-7)

Plympton beat Ivybridge by 122 runs

Plympton piled on the runs in the first innings with some great batting from Jack Mullin (65 not out) and Todd Rossouw (49). The inning got off to a flyer with Charles Connaris (29) and Mullin going at a run rate of 10 an over.  The run rate continued with Mullin and Rossouw sharing a 102 run partnership in a 10 over spell of the first innings.  D. Dawe ensured that Plympton didn’t run away to 200 by picking up 3 for 25 off his 4 overs. In reply Ivybridge didn’t get off to the best of starts, as they lost the first 5 wickets for only 8 runs.  Cait O’Keefe (2 for 7) and Jamie Lee (2 for 5) bowled really well at the start of the 2nd innings.  G. Berry (16 not out) and D. Dawe (12) batted well to recover Ivybridge’s total to 52 for 7 at the end of their 20 overs.  Plympton in the end were comfortable winners by 122 runs.
