Toss Won by Uplands College & Lowveld Invitational X1

 
A number of factors contributed to the U15s defeat by 88 runs. With a lack of sleep, 24hrs travelling in the system, playing in 36 degrees heat and running into an experienced cricket team.

After Tom Lammonby called incorrectly, Devon were asked to field in the searing heat in the height of the sun. Devon battled hard, however the experienced players of Uplands College & Lowveld Invitational team managed to get on top of the tiring Devon bowlers. All the bowlers took some tap, however Yabsley, Horn, Lammonby and Gibbs all picked up one wicket a peice.  Uplands College & Lowveld Invitational finished 174 for 5 once the 20 overs were completed.

In response Devons innings never really threatened the opposition total, however Tom Lammonby managed to put together a pleasing 35 off 40 balls. Otherwise the batters struggled to grasp the slow wicket and the tight bowling from the College attack, whos varied attack bowled cleverly on the slow wicket.

Devon now gear up to play Nelspruit U15s in a two day game over Monday and Tuesday.
