Toss Won by Townships U15s

Match Report

After losing the toss, in a game which had been changed from day / night to ealry morning started, due to the newly arranged 50 Over domestic final at Newlands in the evening between the Titans and Cobras.  A delayed start meant the game was reduced to 40overs per side.

Kazi Szymanksi lead the way with the ball, with a fiery early spell knocking over a couple of the township batters. The Township lads showed a positive intent and focused their attack by hitting boundaries. The pick of the Devon bowlers was Tom WIlliams, whos over went for 20 runs with  2 wickets off his alloted 8 overs. The Township side finished 187 for 5.

In response Devon lost early wickets with key man Tom Lammonby falling in the second over for 1. Mikey Cooper contributed again with a well made 31. the game changed however when Newton Traceys Jack Gibbs came to the crease, Gibbs compiled his first Devon 50 and made 61 not out to see Devon over the line. He was ably supported by Ben Hayes and Ben Abrahams who sensibly batted with Gibbs to get Devon over the line.
