Devon U15s v Coronation CC U15s @ Vineyard Oval 50 Over Game |
Match Result:- Devon Won by 210 Runs Toss Won by Devon Match Report After venue changes and in decision on who the opposition was going to be. The Devon team were grateful to Western Province for finding an opposition for them to play, this was in the form of Coronation CC from the Paarl area. It was was disapointing that Devon couldn't play the full Boland U15s A team as this would have been a notably tougher test having just finished third in the national competition. Devon won the toss on a used wicket and decided to bat first. Jamie Khan and Ash Causey got the team off to a steady start with Khan making 30 and Causey 17. The fall of these two wickets brought the Mikey Cooper and Tom Lammonby to the wicket who flayed the club side to all corners of the Vineyard Oval. Cooper finished with 63 before playing across one and being bowled. However Lammonby showed his class by continuing to make a well made 123 not out. (Pictured) He was also ably assisted by Kazi Szymanski who finished 41 not out. With 293 on the board, Devon had to maintain there professional approach with the ball. With wickets falling at very regular intervals, Devon completely over powered the club side. The U15s cleaned out the tourists for 83 with wickets being shared between all the bowlers. A impressive margin of victory for the Devon tourists who march on on Tuesday for their next fixture against WP14s / Newlands Cricket School who will certainly be a tougher test. |
