Bradley wary of wounded Budleigh
BOVEY Tracey skipper Peter Bradley is wary of Budleigh Salterton’s ‘wounded animals’ ahead of the Ottermouth meeting between the sides.

Budleigh briefly held the Premier Division batting record last Saturday after racking up 368 for three against Plymouth.

Plymouth broke the record with two balls to spare to win the match.

Budleigh are one off the bottom of the table with only North Devon below them.

Bradley said Budleigh are a better side on paper than their league position suggests and, sooner or later, will come good.

After last week’s outcome, they will be like wounded animals looking for fight.

“Up front they have some decent batters in James Burke and Bob Dawson – who have scored more runs between them than Cornwood have as a team all season,” said Bradley.

“It is the same with the bowling. Front end they have Matt Kidd, Burkie, Bob and Joel Murphy, so it is a bit of a puzzle why they are where they are.

“Batting wise they could do with one or two more chipping in - and bowling wise not enough of their bowlers seem to come off on the same day.

“It only needs a slight improvement though and Budleigh will start winning matches. We don’t want that to happen against us.

“Our next two games are Exmouth (3rd) and Sidmouth (top) and I don’t want to be going into that on a defeat.

Bovey has some tinkering to do as Sam Wyatt-Haines is not available and keeper Ben Ayres is out.
