TORQUAY are handing a league debut to new signing Jack Richardson in the home game against Cornwood tomorrow,Richardson arrived from Exeter last week, but not in time to face Bovey Tracey.
Also in a new-look bowling attack is Jack Bradbury, who joined the club last month.
Justin Yau has returned to Surrey to work and Scott Baldry is working.
Torquay took a nine-wicket beating at Bovey last time out, which leaves them with one win in five starts.
Skipper Ben Passenger knows what’s going wrong. Putting it right is the challenge.
“It was a disappointing display last week - no single batter kicked on to big runs,” said Passenger.
“After getting starts. 212 was always a few short on a good batting deck.
“Bovey’s batters applied themselves well, but our bowling disciplines weren't great as we bowled four or five good balls an over, but failed to build pressure.
“Also, our fielding was sub-standard which also prevented pressure being built.
“The next four weeks see us play Cornwood, Budleigh, Bradninch and North Devon - so it is a hugely important month for us.
“We need to get our performances right in order to gain the positive results that will enable us to look ahead at the half way point of the season.
“I am confident that we aren't far away from getting our performance right, but there will not be any easy games.
“Our approach will be focusing upon hard work, attention to detail, and players taking both individual & team responsibility in these crucial games.”
