TALK about impeccable timing... Bradninch have just taken delivery of three roll-on-roll-off covers in a week where cricket pitches were being lashed by rain.
The covers have been purchased thanks to a grant from Sport England. Councillor John Berry, who had been the club's referee during the bidding process, was thanked at for his part in the project on the ground by club president Roy Nott.
'The covers really are heaven sent,' said groundsman Gary Newall.
'Their arrival means we will get more cricket played in inclement weather.
'I never thought I'd see the day such equipment was here - and it is a measure of the continued great strides the club is making as it continues to compete with the biggest and best in Devon.'
President Nott added: 'The covers are going to make a huge difference to us.
'We are very grateful to Sport England and to John Berry for his support with the application.'
