TAVISTOCK are on their way back to the A Division after an absence of five years after clinching promotion with an eight-wicket win over Thorverton.
Last time Tavvy were in the A Division in 2010 they crashed out without winning a game all season.
They return as B Division champions with 12 wins so far and the prospect of a 13th this Saturday if they beat mid-table Shobrooke Park.
Tavvy had a little wobble mid-season when they lost to Plymstock then Axminster, but were soon back on an even keel.
Beating Thorverton secured the divisional title and left Bideford and Ivybridge to argue over the runners-up spot.
“It's been a long second half of the season, but we got there,” said Tavvy skipper Shaun Daymond.
“I am so glad we have won the league as we have deserved it.
“We have played awesome cricket as a team all year and been consistent in our game.
“All the lads are looking forward to A Division cricket.”
Thorverton collapsed to 23 for five under pressure from Lee Baker (2-20) and Theo Peter (3-20).
James Hope (41) and Will Denford (56no) staged a recovery that helped Thors reach 147 for two.
Tavvy went off in hot-pursuit with Ian Gray (36) leading the way.
Daymond (32no) and Dave Manning (51no) teamed up at 64 for two and knocked off the rest without mishap.
