CORNWOOD opened up some distance between themselves and the chasers in the A Division promotion race with a six-wicket win over Budleigh Salterton.
Second-placed Cornwood went into the game 13 points ahead of Budleigh in third place.
Now the gap has widened to 29 points with Cornwood just a point behind leaders Brixham going into the final third of the season.
Budleigh were blown away inside 33 overs for 97, which Cornwood knocked off in little more than 20.
Two wickets in four balls for Adam Goodliffe removed both Budleigh openers as the home side slipped to 26 for two.
The middle order was blown away by Craig James – he took two for 30 – and Matt Butterworth – as Budleigh’s 44 for two became 49 for six in the space of 21 balls.
Butterworth (4-22) kept chipping away at the lower order. Only Budleigh skipper Joel Murphy, who batted 73 minutes for 16 resisted long
Elliot Staddon spun out tail-enders James Leat and Sam Fereday to conclude the innings.
Cornwood were hardly likely to be caught after openers Ben Warren (21) and Jackson Thompson (42) made a 55-run dent in the target.
Leat (2-27) broke the opening stand and with Cephas Zhuwao (2-10) joining in, Cornwood went from 55 for none to 69 for three.
By the time Chris Parker went for 14 the target was eight to win, which Mark Horwell and Jason Hall accounted for.
