Plympton skipper Carr happy to be derby underdogs

WHO is under pressure in the basement derby between Plympton and Plymouth at Harewood House?

Plympton are rock bottom without a win so far and just about to topple over the precipice back into the A Division.

Paignton and Plymouth (both 119 points) are the next two sides up the table with a 57-point cushion with Exeter a further point ahead.

Plympton skipper Jamie Carr is happy being the underdogs - but warned Plymouth there could be a nasty nip.

“The pressure is all on Plymouth, no question about that, as they need a win,” said Carr.

“It is a derby game and if that can’t lift our lads I am not sure what will.

Ryan Skinner back from holiday in place of Todd Rossouw.

“We missed Ryan last week as he is different to all our other seamers.

“Ryan attacks the stumps and makes the batsmen play. It will be good to have him back.”

Plymouth captain Sam Stein isn’t thinking about pressure; he is aiming to make the best of a chance to move up the table.

“We are looking to put some distance between Paignton and Exeter. Knowing that they have tough games against Sidmouth (2nd) and Bovey Tracey (4th) respectively,” said Stein.

“We are going in to this game with the same mentality as any other.

“We want to take 20 points and keep adding to our tally.

“The lads are raring to go and knowing that we played pretty well against North Devon last week gives us a lot of confidence.”
