Bunbury winners in line for Loughborough call-ups

EXETER'S young all-rounder Tom Lammonby is waiting to hear if he is in the thoughts of the England U15 selectors after a starring role at the Bunbury Festival.

The Festival - this year held at Malvern College - is a shop window for young players aiming for a career in the game.

Lammonby, who signed on with the Somerset Academy last week, was the top batsman at the week-long Festival.

He made 156 runs at an average of 52.20 for the West XI to win the award.

County U15 team-mate Kazi Szymanski (Torquay) topped the bowling rankings with seven wickets at 9.71 each to make it a Devon double. He, too, will be in the selectors' thoughts. Tom (left) and Kazi are pictured.

The next stage of the process is to play in a trial game between the South-West and London-South East at Loughborough College later this month.

Lammonby, currently on tour with Devon U15s in Hampshire, is waiting to hear from the ECB if he is selected.

The team chief is former Exmouth captain and Devon all-rounder David Court.
