Exmouth looking to drum up support for NatWest T20 final

EXMOUTH are hoping Devon’s extended cricket family will get behind their attempt to win the NatWest Club T20 final at Cardiff’s SWALEC Stadium on September 1.

Exmouth won a nail-biting national quarter-final last Sunday when they defeated Wimbledon off the last ball of the game to go through.

Waiting in Cardiff will be Pudsey Congs, whom Emouth play in the first semi-final at 11.15 am, with the winners facing either Chester Broughton Hall or Ealing in the final.

Exmouth want to take a supporters’ coach to Cardiff and have spaces on it for anyone who wants to cheer them on.

‘This match is not only a tremendous event for Exmouth CC but also Devon cricket as a whole,’ said Exmouth secretary Paul Corder.

“Our team really needs support to encourage and cajole them to victory.

‘If we can get sufficient support, we would like to put on a coach, which would leave Exmouth at 7.00 am to be sure of getting to Cardiff in time for our game at 11.15 am.

‘We can arrange the coach to pick up and drop at Sowton Services in Exeter.

Time is of the essence as we need to ascertain potential interest as obviously the cost of a coach is a big commitment

‘I know it is short notice, however the dates for these matches are determined by the ECB.’

The exact ticket price hasn’t been set yet, but Corder estimates it will be around £15 per person.

Anyone interested in going should contact Corder or club chairman Richard Butler.
