Rest of the news from the C Division East

CHAMPIONS Ottery St Mary won a low-scoring affair against visiting Seaton by  25 runs.

Dan Flower (68) had the only score of note for Ottery in their tally of 122 all out.

Phil Collins and Chris Aplin took three wickets each for Seaton, who were bundled out in reply for 97.

Man of the moment for Ottery with the ball was Jody Clements, who spun his way to figures of five for 11 as Seaton fell apart.

Seaton were 62 for eight after a going over from Clements and only got to 97 all out thanks to Joel Seward (45no) and Joe Berry (20) hanging around.

Ottery finished 48 points ahead of second-placed Uplyme, who have a home play-off against Plymouth CS&R this Saturday to determine who the third promoted team are.

Dartington & Totnes are up automatically as C Division West champions.

FENITON finished a mediocre season on an encouraging note with a 94-run win over play-off bound Uplyme.

The two Kingdon’s - Mark (81) and Matt (35no) – made the bulk of the runs in Feniton’s  total of 204 all out.

Mark Kingdon and skipper Johnny Pyle then bagged three wickets each as Uplyme were skittled out for 112.

CLYST Hydon skipper Oz Besley ended his brief reign on a high note by steering the side to a five-wicket win over Barnstaple & Pilton.

Besley stepped in at the start of the season to replace Ian Sutton, who wanted a year off after becoming a father for the first time.

Besley won’t be carrying on next year and fully expects Suttin to be voted back in at the club’s annual meeting.

“Annual meetings can be funny things so you can’t be completely sure, but if Ian wants the job back I expect he will get it,” said Besley.

Tom Popham (72) and Jack Thomas (75) formed a 117-run partnership for the first wicket as B&P made 215 all out.

Pick of the Hydon bowlers was Will Thornton with three for 45.

Hydon were glad of two sizeable stands for knocking off the runs, both involving Dhanuja Haturusingha.

Sutton (54) was the popular Sri Lankan’s partner in a partnership of 54 and Dickie Arnold (31no) joined him for another of exactly 70.

Brady Saunders (2-43) had the only bowling figures of note for B&P.
