ABBOTSKERSWELL skipper Hugo Whitlock shows off the South Devon League Cup after the Division Two champions defeated Babbacombe by five wickets to retain it for another year.
Babbacombe were always in trouble after being bowled for 64 at Two Mile Oak – man of the match Toby Codd taking five for five and Elliot Adams three for 17.
Tim Goodwin was stranded on 24 not out when the final wicket fell.
Abbots’ chase wasn’t without issues though as Dominic Passmore (3-18) slowed them down. Charlie Hill’s 21 not-out saw Abbots home.
South Devon League Clubs are reminded the competition’s annual meeting takes place at South Devon CC, Newton Abbot on October 16 (7.30pm).
Applications to join the league next season need to be sent to secretary Dave Howe (howe.david@btinternet.com) by September 25.
