BOVEY Tracey captain Peter Bradley believes it is only a matter of time before batsman Seamus McKenna starts to thrive at his new club.
McKenna arrived from Shaldon during the winter with an enviable record of run scoring in the lower divisions.
He made 688 runs in the C Division last season – no one made more – including 181 against Kingsbridge. He had a 751-run tally in 2013 that included tons against Filleigh, Halberton and Feniton.
In two hits for Bovey this season – Sidmouth and Plympton – he has McKenna has made five and 10.
“We know Seamus is a good player from the 50 against Chard and the 90 he got against University of Exeter pre-season,” said Bradley.
“His technique is solid, he has looked comfortable opening and batting at five and just needs a score.
“He will come good sooner or later, I have no doubt about that.?
Bovey entertain Exeter tomorrow and have penciled in a squad of 13.
Added to the team that beat Plympton last time out are batter Ben Ayres and bowler Charlie Hill, who has performed in the second team.
