CHUDLEIGH will be aiming to bounce back from their first defeat of the season when they square up to Shobrooke Park.
Sean Newland hit a top score of 53 and Rob Clarke made 42 as Chudleigh recovered from 31 for four to make 211 all out.
Axminster reached 72 without loss, had a brief wobble when three wickets went for two runs, then went full steam to 195 for four with Matt Pile and Sam Farrow leading the way.
By the time Chudleigh made the breakthrough, it was too late as the target was down to 17 to win with five overs to get them.

Pile (3-41) posed the early problems for Chudleigh before Clarke came out to join Newland.
Clarke and Newland’s stand of 74 was topped up Faisel Khaliq (35) and Will Heather (22no), who were involved in late stands worth 61.
Alan Ostler (24) and Brad Cross (37) got Axmisnter up to 72 the both fell in the space of nine balls with Nick Taylor following suit almost immediately.
A stand of 121 between Pile (54) and Farrow (70) left Paul Miller and Dave Field to tidy up the loose ends as Axminster won with five wickets in hand.
