Hatherleigh wary of table-topping Cornwood

HATHERLEIGH have recalled batter Jack Cherrington in place of Andy Collier for their meeting with leaders Cornwood.

Cornwood are steaming on at the top of the table, but Hatherleigh have stalled in the last two weeks after a promising start.

Mark Lake, the Hatherleigh captain, said Cornwood have to be respected but his men won’t fear them either.

“Neither side knows a lot about each other, but I expect to be meeting a pretty strong side with plenty of experience and a know-how of how to win cricket games,” said Lake.

“We need to stand up and be counted and bat our 50 overs

“I know we have the ability to do it I'm looking this week end for each individual to prize there own wicket.

“On our day we can beat anyone but I have respect for Cornwood after the start they've had.”
