BRIDESTOWE extended their lead at the top of C (West) to 21 points, thanks to a 61-run win over second-placed Chagford.Tom Fogerty (13) and Gary Sizmur (14) got Bridestowe off to a good start, before they both fell in quick succession.
Runs were difficult to come by, thanks to accurate bowling from Del Lammonby, and sharp keeping from Stuart Lord, who picked up three sharp stumpings.
James (10) and Sam Ewen (13) both got starts, but departed to spinner Rowlands (4-17), who was the pick of the Chagford bowlers.
Jack (32) and Phil (19) Hatton played some strong attacking shots in the middle order, with Jack smashing one over from Will Lammonby for 18.
Wickets continued to fall though, and Bridestowe will have been worried when the score was at 132-9.
The last two batsmen of Chris Lavis (19*) and Alex Jopling (23) put on 48 crucial runs, through solid defence and some well-timed attacking shots.
180ao represented a more than competitive total, with contributions all the way down the order.
The Chagford chase started disastrously, as they lost Fuller, Lord and league top run scorer Marais, before the score had reached 10.
Tom (4-13) and Dan (2-24) Fogerty proved near impossible to get away, and they proceeded to rip out the middle order to leave Chagford at 44-6.
Sizmur removed Hancock in his first over and Lavis got two-in-two when he bowled Will Lammonby and Mortimer.
At 55-9 the game was all-but gone for the visitors, but the last pair again made a significant contribution.
Del Lammonby (34) and Rowlands (26*) batted excellently, and put on 64 for the last wicket before Lavis (3-39) bowled Rowlands to finish off another comfortable win for the home side.
Captain Mark Butler, who missed the game with injury, said: 'As a team we have really been impressive in the last few weeks, when someone struggles with bat or ball, there's always somebody else ready to step up.'
STOKE Gabriel captain Jack Tolley will hope the five-wicket win over Ashburton is a corner finally turned,
The Villagers had only won once before the last round of games and were in danger if being cast adrift in the basement.
A win lifts Stoke out of the bottom two and ahead of Ashburton, who occupy their old place.
Opener Martin Causey top scored for Ashburton with 85. Pick of the bowlers with three for 40 was Dan Bullock, backed up by Tolley (2-34).
Stoke recently captured former Paignton batsman Simon Edwards, who had a couple of outings for Devon back in 2002 towards the end of Peter Roebuck’s time as captain.
With Edwards making 52 and Sam Parker 54, Stoke set off in hot pursuit of Ashes’ tally of 203 for seven.
Tolley (35) and Shane Lewis (20) were the supporting players on the chase.

Anis Zubair was Yelverton’s prime run scorer with 52 as Yelverton made 202 all out.
