Bovey beat Hatherleigh to win ECB county crown
BOVEY Tracey (above) defeated Hatherleigh (below) by 64 runs in the Devon final of the ECB U13 Cup.Bovey, who had home advantage, batted first and got off to a flyer with Ben Goble (27) and Taylor Ingham-Hill (30 ret) putting on 63 for the first wicket.
Bovey continued to score at six or more and over with Alfie Tucker scoring 28
The final Bovey total was 139 for five.
Ryan Quick (3-26) was the pick of the Hatherleigh bowlers.
Hatherleigh started well with Jasper Presswell scoring a quick 20. Jack Rutley retired on 32.
Although Hatherleigh kept up with the run-rate, wickets steadily fell and they were bowled out for 75 with seven overs to spare.
Taylor Ingham-Hill (3-8) was the leading wicket taker.
Goble and Archie Christophers took two wickets each.
Bovey Tracey now go into the next round to face the Cornish champions.
