Wyatt-Hanes back with Bovey Tracey

BOVEY Tracey skipper Peter Bradley reports no injury or availability problems for part one of the Torquay double header.

Bovey go to Torquay on Saturday with a full-strength side to pick from, but will be a couple short for the Sunday re-match in the Booker Wholesale Devon Cup on their own ground.

The full-strength side includes Sam Wyatt-Haines, who is back at the club after a brief stint with Clevedon in the WEPL. It also includes 17-year-old Zimbabwean Andy Lake, the brother of opener Malcolm who has similar attacking tendencies with the bat.

“We are really looking forward to the double-header against Torquay this weekend,” said Bradley.

“We have some decisions to make on Saturday as with Ryan Bougourd and Sam Hickenbottom back in contention there is a fight for places.

“On Sunday we have a couple out due to Devon duties - senior and age group - as do Torquay.

“It will be good to blood some younger, fringe players in a competitive environment.”

Bovey will be well aware their record against Torquay isn’t great and – and Torquay know they know!

“We always have tight games with Bovey and have probably had the better of it in recent years,” said Torquay captain Justin Yau.

“They will want to set the record straight.”

Somerset’s Max Waller in for Richard Hancocks the only change to the Torquay side beaten at Exmouth.

“We are at full strength and I have no doubt it will be a very close and exciting contest,” said Yau.

“We were poor last time out and are itching to make up for it this week.

“Fortunately we go into this game still top of the table - it's great to still be in the mix and to spend seven weeks here is a great effort, having clambered around the bottom for the last five years.

“We are not the finished article but we do have some extremely talented players who take pride in playing for the club which has gone a long way this season.

“We will continue to play positively and we hope we can come good at the weekend.”
