TOM Lammonby hit form to crack an impressive, century but it wasn't enough to prevent Devon losing to arch rivals Somerset in the ECB Championship clash.
Skipper Lammonby's 114 included 19 fours as he and Heathcoat's Sam Maunder put on 126 in a second-wicket partnership.
Maunder scored a useful 59 in a total of 279-8 from 50 overs. Opener Jamie Khan weighed in with 36.
The total seemed a good one but, with a beautiful batting track and lightning outfield at Taunton Vale CC, Somerset made light work of the run chase.
Wells (106) reached his ton for the hosts in 25 overs and the game was all over with six overs to spare for the loss of just four Somerset wickets.
Leon Horn finished with 3-58 for Devon.
Devon 279-8 (J Khan 36, Lammonby 114, Maunder 59), Somerset 283-4 (Wells 106). Somerset bt Devon by 5 wkts.
