Barton, Chudleigh and Babbacombe confirm overseas players

BARTON have gone for a left-arm pace option as their overseas player for the season ahead by signing Jared Seiffert.

Seiffert, who hails from New South Wales, has been playing in the Jakarta Cricket Association (League One), Indonesia’s Premier Cricket Competition.

The 23 year old played for New South Wales at under-15 and under-19 age groups.

Until recently Seiffert has been working for the ICC East-Asia Pacific region in Indonesia as a cricket development officer, travelling around the country as a specialist coach and helping as a head selector for the Indonesian National Squad.

He returned to Australia at Christmas to resume his club commitments.

Seiffert was named Marist Brothers Lismore CC's ‘best on and off the field’ player last year. courtesy of 345 runs at 38.3 and 18 wickets at 29 in the Northern New South Wales' L J Hooker League.

Playing for Harrow St Mary’s in the Middlesex Premier League (Division Three) back in 2011, he was the club's leading wicket-taker with over 70 wickets in all forms of cricket averaging below 19.

Seiffert has a strong back ground in coaching, both in this country and Australia, and has a degree in sports science, majoring in sports management.

CHUDLEIGH have signed Aussie batsman Corey Sinclair to bolster their squad following promotion back to the A Division.

Sinclair (18) plays Grade cricket for Sturt DCC in the South Australian Cricket Association.

He is a left-hand top-order batsman and versatile bowler, equally adept bowling medium left-arm seam or orthodox spin.

Sinclair is a former member of the victorious South Australian side that won the Cricket Australia Under-17 National Champions in January 2014.

He was also the stand-out run scorer for Sacred Heart College 1st XI, churning out over 1,000 runs at 42 to top the College run charts in successive seasons.

Sinclair replaces Belgian international Faisal Khaliq, who has been Chudleigh’s overseas player for the past two seasons.

Chudleigh start nets at Coombeshead School in Newton Abbot on February 29 (7-9pm). By then skipper Ed Foreman hopes to have confirmed at least one new signing.

One definite change at Chudleigh in 2016 is that Hugh Stronge has taken over the 2nd XI captaincy from Matt Ball.

BABBACOMBE’S new overseas player for 2016 is quick-bowling all-rounder Dylan Rayner.

South African Rayner, who is 19, has played for Easterns at under-17 and under-19 level. He plays for United CC in the Easterns Premier League.

Rayner can bat too. In college cricket for Hans Moore High School he made nearly 600 runs at an average of more than 50 during the 2014 season.
