 Pre-Season Report Devon Under 10s head into their summer season in good spirits after a very
productive winter training programme.
With a nucleus of players who
already have a year's experience of County cricket (having "played up" in 2014)
and lots of eager newcomers, the squad have a great mix of talents which Manager
Chris Partridge and Coach Paul Herd hope will combine to great effect in the
upcoming matches.Several of the players have already proved they are in fine form in the recently completed inter-district competition. Amongst the batters, South Devon opener Jake Pascoe produced a sublime innings of 74 not out against a talented North Devon attack whilst his team mate, wicketkeeper/batter Morgan Couch, accumulated over 70 runs in 3 games without being dismissed. East Devon's all rounder Matt Jeacock totalled 81 runs at an average of 27 and North Devon's Cameron Ford ended the competition with an astonishing average of 93 having been dismissed just once in 3 innings. Devon start with a warm up game against the Devon Lions Under 10s at Ivybridge CC this coming Sunday 24th May, before travelling to Dorset (Thursday 28th May) and then hosting Gwent at West Buckland School (31st May).
