C Division West - Bridestowe move in at the top

Bridestowe moved to the top of C (West) thanks to a nine-wicket win over Kingsbridge.

Bridestowe won the toss and had Kingsbridge in all sorts of trouble from the start.

The Fogerty brothers picked up three early wickets between them before Sizmur (3-22) and Khan (4-19) crashed through the middle and lower order to leave Kingsbridge 76 all out.

Westlake (37) batted well at the top for Kings, but Rosewarne (12) was the only other player to make double figures.

Bridestowe lost one wicket in the first over of their chase, to the bowling of Peach, but they soon cruised to victory.

Gary Sizmur backed up another good bowling performance with an excellent 57*, with Barry Down finishing 14* to see the hosts home inside 16 overs.
THE only way is up for Ashburton when they visit Kingsbridge this Saturday after suffering a four-wicket defeat by Plymouth CS&R.
For Ashes are 10 points adrift at the bottom of the table and the side they have to get past to get out of the bottom two is… Kingsbridge.
Tom Durman (59) and Kev Nicholls (22) were the main run getters for Ashes in a total of 194 for nine.
Brian Gaylard anchored the Civil reply with 74, putting on 38 with Chris Sanders (32) and 53 with brother Rob (30).
Durman (3-37) was the leading Ashburton bowler.
Kingsbridge faired worse at Bridestowe, where they were hustled out for 76 by Gary Sizmur (3-22) and Naz Khan (4-19) with Jack Westlake (37) the only batter to linger long.
Sizmur’s unbeaten 57 sped Bridestowe to a nine-wicket win.
STOKE Gabriel will probably feel wary going into their meeting with Bridestowe after suffering a six-wicket defeat against Chagford.
Take out Issac Withington’s 27 not out and there wasn’t a lot from the Stoke batters in a total of 105 all out. Del Lammonby had three for 29.
Divan Marais (36 ) made early runs and Paul Penberthy was unbeaten on 29 as Chagford negotiated Jack Tolley (2-12) and Seb Ansley (2-24) to win at a gallop.
Chagford are at home to Whitchurch this Saturday afternoon.
BEN van Niekerk cracked an unbeaten century as Dartington & Totnes sent Babbacombe tumbling to an eight-wicket defeat.
Mike Pugh hit 59 and Nathan Beech 40 in Babbacombe’s total of 208 for eight. Steve Broad had 32.
Chris Cook took four for 29 with his slow bowling – and his contribution wasn’t over yet.
Van Niekerk made 114 not out Matt Haw had 41 and Cook was in at the end, unbeaten on 31.
Babbacombe are away to Yelverton this Saturday. Dartington & Totnes head for Plymouth CS&R.
