Stokeinteignhead have secured two shirt sponsorship deals for their inaugural season in the Tolchards Devon Cricket League.
The Division D West club welcome Print Source (UK) Limited of Ogwell and the Wild Goose Inn in Combeinteignhead as sponsors.
Print Source was founded in 2006 by Chris Saunders after many years in the print and paper industries.
The company offers a professional and highly personalised, one-stop service for printing requirements ranging from books, brochures and catalogues to stationery, booklets, large format printing and printed packaging.
Ian Gidwell and family has recently taken over at the Wild Goose Inn in Combeinteignhead and have plans to increase trade by opening all day at weekends followed by all day, everyday during the summer.
The pub in the picturesque village opened in the mid 19th Century as the Country House Inn before changing its name during the 1960s.
The cricket team has used it as its after-match base for many years under different landlords as, unusually, they have never played in Stokeinteignhead during their 66-year history.
The club has been in Spring training with indoor nets taking place at Teignmouth Community College over recent weeks. Sandy Allen of Nelson Cricket Coaching, the Exmouth and Devon wicketkeeper, will assist with their Devon League preparations in the coming weeks as well as heading the junior section practice sessions at Netherton Park.
Stoke have welcomed back former player Ian Christie to the training sessions.
Christie was seriously ill with liver cirrhosis a few years ago after contracting hepatitis C many years before.
In March 2013 Ian made medical history when he received the world’s first ‘warm liver’ transplant thanks to doctors at Kings College Hospital in London and scientists from Oxford University with their revolutionary machine that can keep organs alive at body temperature to assist in the operations. The club hopes to see Ian back on the square at Netherton Park within the next month.
The club start the 2015 season with friendlies against Erratics, Harberton, Ipplepen and Kenn later this month before commencing their first Devon League campaign with a home fixture against Countess Wear on Saturday, May 2.
Match Sponsorship has been secured for all fixtures at Netherton Park in the forthcoming year and the club thanks those people for their continued support.
