Guide to completing your DBS (formerly CRB) check
Please use the following steps to help you with your DBS application:
1. Order a pack from GB Group Plc (formerly TMG CRB) by phone 0845 251 3000 or:
http://www.onlinedisclosures.co.uk/already-using-online-disclosures/ecb/order-a-pack/
2. When you receive your DBS pack fill in the details as instructed to do so and have it signed off by Evidence Checker (list arrives with the pack)
3. Post
your completed DBS forms off to the following address: ECB GB Group Plc (formerly TMG CRB), 1 Wilford Business Park, Ruddington Lane, Nottingham
NG11 7EP (please make a note of the Form Reference
beginning with F which can be found on the front page).
4. Once you are successfully cleared, GB Group Plc will notify DBS (in Liverpool) who will then send you (the applicant) your DBS original disclosure certificate in the post. Make a note of your DBS certificate number). Take this opportunity to register online with DBS for the Online Update service…see below.
5. Within two weeks of receiving your DBS certificate GB Group Plc will ask you to send the original copy of your certificate to the following address: Disclosures Office, GB Group Plc, 1 Wliford Business Park, Ruddington Lane, Nottingham NG11 7EP in order for it to be vetted (if this is not done you will not be registered by ECB and therefore be ineligible for ECB ACO membership).
6. GB Group Plc will send your disclosure certificate back to you in due course.
Until you have completed the steps above, you have not been vetted by ECB, and your DBS is not valid for cricket.
See Safeguarding page of website for more information http://www.ecb.co.uk/ecb/safeguarding-children-and-child-protection/vetting-checks/
Online Update Service - Register online with DBS (within 19 days of the issue of your certificate - it is free for volunteers): www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service.
If you do this you may not need to redo your DBS check in 3 years time. (A reminder will be sent to you after 12 months to re-register online). You may also be able to use this disclosure for roles outside cricket.
