LLOYDS LEDA GIANT 5-MOWER TRAILER OUTFIT.
Denbury Village Cricket Club have for sale a professional-grade 5-gang mower outfit by Lloyds of Letchworth. The mowers are mounted on a hydraulically-operated road trailer, which enables them to be lifted and folded at the pull of a lever on the towing tractor, and then mechanically locked into the raised position. With the addition of a trailer light board, the whole assembly can then be safely and legally towed on the road behind a suitable vehicle (eg a Land Rover) from site to site, for transfer to storage or for servicing off-site.
In use the outer gangs can be locked in the up position for a narrower cut, but when all five mowers are fully deployed a cutting width of some 4 metres makes quick work of any outfield – or indeed an entire sports field. The unit can be towed by a suitable tractor, requiring only a standard pin coupling (50mm eye on trailer) and a standard Dowty coupling to the tractor’s hydraulics for lifting and lowering. The trailer is braked for road use.
This is equipment of the highest calibre, and is still in manufacture, meaning that all spares are readily available (a new outfit to this specification would cost today the thick end of £20,000 including VAT). A manual and spares list will be supplied. The mowers will require sharpening, but are otherwise mechanically sound. They are for sale due to disbandment of Denbury Village Cricket Club.
