After winning the North Choose to bat, after losing the early wicket of Hannam , Billy Gubb & Jack Moore set about some short bowling from the East & raced to 71-1 off 10 overs until a mix up saw Billie Gubb run out for a fluent 45. This unsettled Jack Moore who departed to a catch behind at the second attempt off the bowling of the accurate James Gregson. From herein the East bowling was tight & everybody contributed with the ball & only another 30 runs were scored off 21 overs for the loss of 8 wickets.
The East’s reply got off to a disastrous start with A Jack Moore beauty removing the opener first ball, the other opener followed shortly after a terrible call & the East were 8-2 James Doble scored a quick 21 including 5 fours before departing with the score on 22-3 with the East wobbling. Oliver O’Livey set anchor whilst Ben Sapiecha played a fluent attacking innings to finish 57no in an unbroken partnership of 83 with the East winning by 7 wickets with 15 overs to spare.
