East started with tight bowling, the South scoring 7 runs off the first 8 overs for the loss of 1 wicket, Rory Simpson LBW to the forth ball from Kersley Sutton.  Haydn Lidstone and Elliot Adams then batted sensibly taking the South through to drinks.  The first ball after drinks brought a wicket with Lidstone (15) out to a high swirling catch taken by Ben Sapiecha off spinner Max Mejzner.  Sam Taylor came to the crease looking to push the score along putting on 39 with Elliot Adams who was bowled playing across the line to a straight ball for a sensible 47.

When the East batted they were soon in trouble losing 2 wickets in the first 3 overs, Max Mejzner caught off the 3^rd ball after a leading edge and Sam Corney eager to run having nearly been run out first ball, was run out 5 balls later.  Ben Sapiecha and Oliver O’Livey steadied the ship and took the East to drinks without further loss.  The match was evenly poised at this point but the loss of O’Livey (14) and Sapiecha (29) saw the East slip behind the run rate and new batters coming and going regularly to tight bowling by the South.  Tom Jeacock and East captain James Gregson saw out the remaining overs for a draw.
