East Devon 123-4 (J Shepperd 29) beat South Devon 122-9 (N Wright 71*; O Reed 3-11, R Davies 3-19, B Rudolph 2-17) by 6 wickets
East won the toss and needing to keep hopes of winning the district competition alive,asked the South to bat. Ollie Reed made early in-roads reducing the South to 13-2 and although a recovery was underway,first bowling from Rhys Davies with 3 for 2 firmly put the South back in trouble. Noah Wright patiently built his innings while wickets tumbled the other end and finished on a very creditable 71n.o. The total of 122 was unlikely to be enough and without wickets in batches small partnerships eroded the score and a opening knock from Jim Shepperd(29) formed the backbone of the required score. A second spell from Will Christophers could have spelt danger but some steady middle order batting from Jack Lockwood(13n.o) and Ben Phillips(16n.o) saw the team over the line. A windy day with cricket the winner!
