Batting first the North were unable to take advantage of an opening stand of 66 between Sam Lathwell & Alfie Huxtable and contrived to be bowled out for 108 despite receiving 62 runs in extras. Toby Codd and Will Dory for the South bowled particularly well sharing 7 well deserved wickets between them, showing more control and consistency than some of the earlier bowlers.
Toby Codd then came out to bat for the South at first wicket down and played a perfectly controlled innings to see his side to a comfortable victory, ending a good day for himself with 45 Not Out. The North were never able to put much pressure on in the field conceding 40 extras and dropping some catches along the way. However, the day belonged to the Toby Codd and his Southern teammates earning themselves 21 points for a comfortable victory.
