East Devon got off to a flying start with their openers flaying the bowling to all parts to bring up the 50 in the 6th over and reaching the 10th over break at 65 for 1. However, after the break  North Devon came back strongly with Ed Parry bowling an immaculate line and length to pick up 5-10 before drinks at 20 overs with the score on 105 for 8. East were then indebted to a 9th wicket partnership between J. Bovey (32) and C.Jackson (12 Not Out) of 41. With a final wicket unbroken partnership of 29 between Jackson, and the guesting O.Hannam, East were finally able to close on a what looked like a competitive total of 167 -9.

This total looked far more than competitive after tea when the East bowlers performed superbly, ably supported by some excellent fielding. The North Devon batsmen had no answer to the accurate and pacey bowling of the East and subsided to a meagre 46 all out.
